puppet show tunic and shorts

One more summer outfit is complete.
I made the Oliver + S Puppet Show tunic and shorts using some fun Japanese fabric.
I seem to be on a roll here...everything Oliver + S and Japanese.

When I first finished this shirt, it looked like an art smock to me with the busy fabric choice
but it has grown on me and now I love it!

This was my first time using an Oliver + S clothing pattern.
Most of the clothes I have made are PDF patterns/tutorials with lots of pictures, and I found myself rereading the tunic pattern many times to figure out what to do but I made it through and definitely like the end result.

I love all the little details.

The shorts pattern was easy to follow and a quick sew - or at least it seemed quick after making the top.
I just love this shorts pattern.  Again the details are so cute!  Just look at those little pockets!

So in the end...do I like it...will I use Oliver + S patterns in the future?  Definitely yes!
I already have the pattern and fabric chosen for another little outfit.
We'll just have to see when I have time to tackle it.

three bears backpack

I finished another project from Oliver + S Little Things to Sew.
A backpack...just perfect for a young one.
I used a medium-weight Japanese fabric...it worked wonderfully for fussy cutting those three bears.

bear carrier

I've been thinking about Christmas gifts over here
and made these bear carriers from Oliver + S Little Things to Sew.
I made them with the plan to give them to the girls for Christmas...we'll see if they stay hidden that long.
But I'm thinking I need to make another one, as I'm sure littlest sister would like to have one too.

I used snaps instead of Velcro like the pattern indicates.

This was a fun project to do - and I got to use some Japanese fabric scraps for the little pocket on the front! I've recently ordered some yardage of Japanese fabric and love it!  Fun, fun!

children at play pillowcases

I love the Children at Play fabric line and finally bought some of it.
I bought it to make the girls some pillowcases.

I debated whether or not to use the fabric for the pillowcases as I knew the print would be sideways but in the end I went ahead and made them.  Now I'll just think that my girls can see the cute little fabric girls playing as they drift off to sleep.

summer dresses

So I am finally getting around to showing you the dresses.
I used the Butterfly Dress pattern for the older two.
