cargo duffle bags

In my effort to use up some of my fabric before buying more, I decided to make some duffle bags using Noodlehead's free cargo duffle pattern.  I took the easy street though and didn't bother putting the pockets.

This is such at great pattern!  It's a good-sized bag that doesn't take too long to sew up.  And I love how the inside seams are finished with some binding.  In fact, I like it so much I just may have another one on the go!

These will probably end up in my gift stash.  It is my hope to make gifts throughout the year so I don't feel overwhelmed come December and can enjoy that month with my kids doing things like baking, crafting...  So here is my start!

patchwork embroidery hoop

While I still had the fabric out from making this quilt and these pillows, I decided to make a patchwork embroidery hoop to match.  Now I have some new Christmas decor ready to put out next year!

new sewing space

We recently did a room swap at our place.  We moved the girls' bedroom down to my sewing room/guest room and I now have my sewing stuff up in their old room with (eventually) buddy boy's crib.  Here is my new sewing space in one corner of the room.  I'm really enjoying it...especially how bright it is in there.

While moving and organizing everything, I came to realize that I have quite a bit of fabric!  :)  In fact, I think I'll go on a fabric diet and try use up a lot of what I have before buying more.  I also went through some of my fabric stash/scraps and decided to give some away.  While I would love to hold onto it all, I just don't know if I'll find time to use it all!

Here are scraps left over from when I made this quilt.

To enter the giveaway, head over to my Facebook page and comment on the giveaway post.  Giveaway closes Monday, February 17th.

While organizing, I also came across this vintage quilt kit that I have hung onto for awhile.  Some of the fabric is missing from this quilt kit so it wouldn't make the whole quilt but there is still quite a bit just waiting to be made into Dresden plates.  I have been wondering if I should list it in my Etsy shop...would anyone be interested in this?

baby in the hood jacket

So I made this jacket for my son back in the Fall but never got around to taking pictures of it until just the other day.  This is the baby in the hood jacket from Handmade Beginnings.  This was my second time using this pattern.  I changed it a bit this time by putting button holes instead of button loops.  I also added some length to the bottom of the jacket and the sleeves because my boy is tall.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
