scrap fabric canvas

scrap fabric canvas

My girls are always excited to do a new craft (this one inspired by Crazy Mom Quilt's ticker tape canvas).
For this one, we again hauled out my small scraps bag.
I cut the pieces and the girls helped arrange them on the canvas.
Then using Mod Podge we glued the fabric pieces down and applied another layer of Mod Podge on top.

patchwork duffle bag

While making the last two duffle bags, I was already planning my next one.
I couldn't help but think how fun it would be to make a patchwork bag.
I started pulling scraps from my small-scraps bag and got busy.
It feels good to make something like this from such small pieces of fabric.
Now unlike the other bags, this one is for my (patchwork-loving) self!

Sorry for the abundance of pictures but I was having too much fun taking pictures
of this bright bag amidst our winter whiteness.

little artist bag

For my daughter's birthday, I made her an artist bag.  A place for her to store her note pad and pens with a pocket to hold a few treasures and handles to carry it around.  She was quite pleased with it and it has seen much use.  Her older sister has already put in her request for one too.

I got the idea from here, although the link to the tutorial seems to be missing.
